Basically, we would be looking at paying an air fare to the value of £1100, half up front, the other half in 4 payments during the season. We would sort out accommodation, we would pay £90 - £100 as pocket money for work on the Main Oval Wicket as required. It is the same deal Fricky has had for the last 3 years. We don't expect a Test or State player for that but it would certainly suit an up and coming B - A grader. We really need a Batsman who can bowl a bit unless he is genuinely quick. We have lots of variables at present, too many, and we want to get the overseas situation sorted asap so we can move forward on other fronts.
UK CRICKET 2008
After a hugely successful 2007 cricket season where CricX.com placed an unparalleled 145 professionals into the UK, Ireland and Europe, we are now looking to recruit players for the 2008 UK season. CricX.com has established itself as the leading cricket agency in the UK market, having placed a record 145 cricketers to the UK (almost doubling the next best agency!). Our reputation for securing the most lucrative contracts is well-known and through our extensive networks and contract negotiation strategy, we are best placed to secure our clients contracts in 2008.
We are in the process of recruiting high calibre players for next season. We are due to launch our new, time efficient website within the coming weeks which will coincide with the release of our client list to the UK market. Should you be interested in using our service in 2008, please complete the attached “client registration form” and return (in full) as soon as possible.
Upon receipt of the completed registration form, we will draft your cricket CV (to forward to clubs who show an interest) and will release your details/profile on our outgoing player list. In addition, we can release your details on our website to generate even more exposure (our website receives approximately 2,000 hits per week alone!).
For next season, we are also offering a select few clients the opportunity to work through CricX.com on an'exclusive basis'. For those clients selected, we will prioritise your exposure to clubs on our player list / website in order to increase opportunities. As with all our clients, we will then look to maximise your earning potential through our contract negotiation service. However, in addition to our contract service, we will be able to offer potential sponsorship and endorsement arrangements throughout your contract period with CricX.com. If you are selected to become one of our “exclusive clients”, you will be contracted to CricX.com, who will act on your behalf, for a 2-year period (2008-09) for all UK League / County Cricket. If you are interested in becoming one of our “exclusive clients”, please let me know by email urgently for our user agreement form.

Another Opportunity in the UK:
I am Martin Green, Chairman of Alton Cricket Club. I am writing to see whether any of your first grade players might be interested in coming across to England to play and coach at Alton next season (late April - early September '08). Alton CC is a very family orientated club focussing on developing our youngsters and providing cricket for all. We have a great setup and look to continually enhance this with an overseas coach to provide new ideas and experience to our youngsters and seniors alike. Unfortunately we have been let down by our intended target for next season - hence this correspondence.
Our 1st XI play in the top level of cricket in Hampshire - the Southern Premier League 1. The 1st XI was promoted into this league 2 years ago and has steadily improved since. We have 4 other senior sides that play at varying levels, a ladies XI and an extensive colts set up from U17 down to U7 and younger.
Alton is a small market town in Hampshire, England (population around 16,000). It is an hour train ride from London Waterloo, half an hour drive from Heathrow and about 30 miles from Southampton and the South coast so is ideally positioned.
Any prospective candidates should be 1st grade standard or better and would need to be a qualified coach. The rules of our league means we are unable to pay players for playing but we are able to reimburse flight costs and provide accommodation. We can also provide the opportunity for some paid coaching work during the week in local schools, on the understanding that the appropriate work visas are in place. In return we would expect some coaching in the evenings and a great playing / training culture from the player.
If there are any likely candidates within your club that would be interested and that you would be happy to recommend to us as fitting into the family culture of our club we would be very pleased to hear from you. We would be happy to provide references from previous overseas players should any players / parents have any concerns. In the past we have accommodated couples where older players have brought their wife across too and we have also looked after much younger player coming over on their own 18 / 19 year olds.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Kind Regards
Martin Green
