Women’s Cricket at Glenelg Glenelg District Cricket Club is committed to women’s cricket, led by captain Kate Weger and coach Graham Sedunary, with a future vision of both an A grade and B grade team. Our current team is inclusive and focussed, supported by the Club to improve our skills, team efforts and our commitment to the game. In season 2018/19 we will field a full B Grade team, heading towards our first A Grade side in season 2019/20. Impressive improvements in our second season with a women’s team (finishing third, following our first season, finishing last) means our goal for an A Grade team in 19/20 are realistic and we are striving for it. The Club has a friendly atmosphere for girls, women and their families, always being included at Saturday night presentations and end of season events. Training during winter is at Gillespie Centre on Cross Road on Sunday nights from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. These nets sessions are focussed on improvements during the off season, and include bowling, batting and catching practice. During summer we train on Gilderol Stadium, with excellent turf nets and a beautifully curated oval. These details will be released soon. Anyone wishing to come and try out for the team is encouraged to contact our women’s coordinator Gemma Burdon.
